In my experiences, running your levers closer to the bar on DH runs allows you to have your finger in a more relaxed position "half pulled" without actually riding the brakes. As opposed to having them stretched out and strained to pull the lever = Less cramping

with bigger DH bikes on a small ranger-like truck they dont sit still on the tailgate pad, the truck bed isnt deep enough. (which is what i found with my ranger...err anger)
